  1. Nish Says:

Freshdrop.com is good. But it has lot of “faked PR” sites. and I think $5 per domain is little misguiding because, you will have to $5+Domain registration fees to get the domain.

  2. Brent Crouch Says:

@Nish – Good point on the $5. Once you add the domain registration most of the domains will cost you around $15 with a one year registration.

I noticed Freshdrop had the “Fake PR” column. I wasn’t even aware you could fake page rank. How does that work?

  3. Nish Says:

    Good article regarding the topic.

  4. Brent Crouch Says:

@Nish – Thanks for the info on faking a PR. I didn’t even know this is possible. I may setup a test domain just to see it first hand. Very interesting.

  5. Sunil Says:

5$ is fine and reg is fine with me…. but if the PR is valid i am ready to take…. But dude expired domain loses Pr as soon as it expires or in the next PR update… some of my sites lost its PR double qwik

  6. Brent Crouch Says:

@Sunil – Personally, I don’t believe it has as much to do with the domain expiring as the fact that there is a “page unavailable” when the Google bot drops by. I recently had a PR5 domain that went to PR0 when I redesigned the site. In the middle of the the redesign the Google Bot dropped by and the site was unavailable. It went to PR0 overnight. Once I had the site back online, it went back to PR5 at the next update.

I’ve heard several people say the same thing happens with expired domains. Once you put related content back on the site it will return to the previous PR once there is a PR update.

  7. sunil Says:

Is it possible? Does the PR wind back to the PR we had while reg after putting the content.. I have added a blog but not much post..just 1… but it shows PR unavailable at the moment. will it retain its original Pr in the next update??

  8. Andrew Says:

Yeah a lot of the domains there are fake so not worth it in my opinion.

This is truly a great read for me!! I love the quality information and news your blog provides 🙂 I have you bookmarked to show this to my brother!
    Thanks,

  11. bobthea Says:

Believe it or not? I don’t belive..!!

  12. Brent Crouch Says:

@bobthea – That’s okay. There are still people that believe the earth is flat. Instead of saying you don’t believe it, why not spend two minutes, visit the website, and see for yourself.

  13. Joko Nugroho Says:

    Hello Brent,

I have bought 2 domains from freshdrop and it is forwarded to godaddy closeout. But the domains are not in my Domain Manager yet. Actually, how long do I should wait until those domains get in to my Domain Manager?

  14. Brent Crouch Says:

@Joko- Give it 2 – 3 days and it will show up.

  15. Marketing Forums Says:

If you look under the tab “Won” it will show you “Yours On:” then a date – on that date you get the domain name. A small price to pay to get some great names i love it!

  16. Adwords Management Says:

Very interesting. I have bought 2 domains and will have a go. I have read elsewhere that you need to be careful that the domain you buy is not one penalized by Google. I have not yet found a way to check this. Any ideas?

  17. Brent Crouch Says:

That’s a good question. I’m not sure if there is really a good way to tell.

    Brent

  18. seo services Says:

we have used several sites to try and get hold of good pr domains, but not yet managed to get a good one as they all seem to go for more then $500 each

  19. pdoods Says:

Yeah, Freshdrop is good for finding real gems. I just bought a two years old domain which have around 3000 backlinks.

  20. ValueDrops Says:

google usually drops the PR if the domain is deleted.

if you are looking for an alternative, try ValueDrops.com, it filters and displays the best dropping domains.
