Pictures of Johnny Cash’s Burned Down House in Hendersonville, TN

Johnny Cash's previous home was located on Old Hickory Lake in Hendersonville, TN. The house burned down a few months after Johnny died. My boat is docked a few miles away from what is left of his house.

There is 24 hour security to keep the looters away. I hear they are planning to take what is left of the house and build a memorial to Johnny in another location.

I have been promising some pictures. Here they are.

thats too bad about johnny cash’s house i had seen it from the outside and in a movie before it burned down.

it was beautiful house i heard about the fire from the tennessean website and drove out to see it that evening there was a steady line of traffic.

i guess a lot of people was affected by it or just curious.

i know barry gibb had purchased the house and was having it remodeled i think he had planned to use it for a summer house i wonder if he plans to build another home there.

if not that would be the perfect spot for the memorial providing it would not be a traffic issue.

I grew up listening to Johnny’s music threw my grandpa. I think he is the best musician in the world. He songs are very powerful and meaning. I admire him greatly. My six year old and two year old daughter loves his music and movies. They sing along to his songs. I would of greatly love to meet him.

@Aurielle – I have some friends that are friends with a member of the Cash family. Before Johnny and June died, this Cash family member took my friend’s son to meet both June and Johnny at their home in Hendersonville. The kid was only 7 – 8 years old at the time and had no idea that the “old man” he just met was a music legend.

I did not know about this. Very sad. But this also completely ends an era. I’m watching the movie ‘I Walk the Line’ right now – this moment. I came to the internet to search.. and this is what I find. I think the home should be rebuilt and turned into a museum. Money could go to up keep and also to Johnny an June’s favorite charities. Thank you for sharing.
