The Pefect Blog / SEO Software

As I previously posted, I am using Word Press Blog Software to run this blog. The software is very good and is used by a lot of people, it just was lacking something as far as SEO is concerned.

The page title is one of the most important on page factors as far as SEO is concerned. Word Press didn't allow much customizaton of the title and always put the blog name in the title. This is terrible for SEO reasons.

Word Press didn't even include the meta keywords and meta description tags. Most SEO pros will tell you these tags aren't important. Who am I to disagree? But there are some search engines that still use them, and if I have to choice to have them or not have them, they'll be in my page everytime.

I spent sometime searching the huge list of available word press plugins. After trying a few, I found these that worked perfect and turn WordPress into the perfect SEO blog software.

The plugins work very well together. I hope this saves someone some time.

Seo Title Tag

The default page titles in WordPress are not very SEO friendly. For a php newbie like myself, I couldn't figure out how to fix it. This plugin does the trick.

It allows you to enter a unique page title when you are posting, or you can configure it to use the title of your post at the page title. You can also choose when, where, and how to include/exclude the title of your blog in the page title. Very simple to install and use.

Another WordPress Meta Plugin

This is also a great and easy to use tool for creating the meta tags. I'm sure most of you know, WordPress doesn't include these tags by default. When installing this plugin, you have the ability to create the meta tags when writing your post. Very easy to use.

Google Sitemap Generator

At the start of my blog, I was wondering how in the world I could keep my sitemap current if I were posting everyday. This piece plugin does the trick. When you create a new post, it edits the sitemap. Very easy to use. You don't have to do anything once it is installed.
