SEO Project #1 – Get Your Entire Site Indexed – Add A Sitemap to Your Site – Update #12
Previous Post For This Project
I've noticed a handful of my pages haven't been indexed by Google. I've double checked and insured these weren't orphaned pages. There weren't but there really isn't any indication of why these pages haven't been indexed yet.
I'm going to see if I can encourage Google to index these pages by loading a Sitemap on my site. If you are interested in using a free software to create sitemaps, please view my previous post for more detailed information.
I will not be posting tomorrow. I have plans to take my daughter to Gatlinburg to visit Dollywood tomorrow. It's going to be our second third trip there this year. It's nearly 2:00 am here. We'll be leaving in about 2 hours. I've got to get some sleep!

Sitemap is a big advantege for SEO techniques. You must use load it to each of your sites…
I submitted my sitemap to google.com/webmaster and it gave me errors on my site http://webdealsdirect.com saying that I had set every page to the same priority and it robots would be unable to determine which page was most important. I just now set my domain to 1.0 then the folowing pages, .8 and then .6 etc. Hopefully this does the trick and maybe this will help someone else out.
Interesting. What program did you use to create the sitemap? It seems the programmer’s would alter the code to make the sitemap compliant with Google’s standards.
It looks like you are running an e-commerce site. I have a few of these myself. Usually, I’ll assign a priority 1 to my home page. I’ll assign a priority .8 to my important pages such as category and sale pages. I’ll give a .6 to my product pages and finally a .4 or less to my terms of service pages.
Good Luck with it.
