DVD Wholesale Directory – 5/4/07 – 5/7/07

I know a dog when I see it!

I've been running Index Page 3 for the last 4 days. How well did it do? Ouch!

Over the last 4 days, the site had 269 unique visitors at an advertising cost of $34.07. These visitors generated ZERO sales.

The problem was with the CTR on the affiliate ads. Only 19% of the visitors clicked on one of these ads resulting in 52 clicks. This may not sound bad, but it is a 15% drop compared to Index Page2. This page layout also never generated any affiliate sales.

The Adsense CTR wasn't much different from Index Page 2, but with total Adsense earnings of $4.79, there isn't much to cheer about.

The CTR on the Ebay ads also remained the same, but generated zero revenue.

Over the last 4 days, this page layout lost $29.28. With the terrible CTR on affiliate ads, I see no reason to run it for the full week. Sometimes you just have to cut a dog loose.

What is the most interesting is how such a small change in the page, had such a huge impact on the revenue generated by that page. Are you leaving profits on the table? The only way to be sure is to test your page layout. Even small changes can make a big difference.

Good Luck with your business,
